Well done paper! I really enjoyed reading through it. The Influence of Long-Chain Omega-3 Fatty Acids on Eccentric Exercise-Induced Delayed Muscle Soreness: Reported Outcomes Are Compromised by Study Design Issues journals.humankinetics.com/view/journals/…

Can a low dose of #fish oil, similar to that from two fatty fish meals a week, raise the Omega- 3 Index (O3I) and improve physical fitness in healthy older adults? Visit bit.ly/34FjUYX to read a study on the topic in Nutrition Bulletin's latest issue! Gregory Peoples

Exciting things to follow from Team Omega Performance Nutrition 🎉 Seems fitting that our 1st tweet is a reminder to re-read this excellent review of the underlying mechanisms of action of omega-3 written by our own mentor Prof. Peter McLennan (40+ years researching n-3 🥸) link.springer.com/article/10.100…

Ryan Anthony & team highlight "considerable variability in n3 study protocols". Only 1/15 studies achieved maximal score for #omega3 study design principles 😲 Future work needs: ✅Appropriate #n3 dose, duration and composition doi.org/10.1123/ijsnem…

Interesting outcome. Highlights the importance of considering the #omega3 dose and differential roles of EPA v DHA for the #heart. Future work focused on the correction of a nutritional deficit rather than a therapeutic approach is needed.

Agree. Mixed/confusing #omega3 related outcomes often due to inclusion of studies in meta-analysis that have used inappropriate study design for the hypothesis being tested.

New study by Ashley Armstrong & team highlights that even with supplementation there is still room for improvement in provision of dietary #omega3 advice and tracking to help young athletes reach/maintain an RBC membrane #O3I within the low risk zone.

Great collaborative effort (Ryan Anthony Gregory Peoples Michael J. Macartney) to get this important info out to n-3 researchers! A review and evaluation of study design considerations for omega-3 fatty acid supplementation trials in physically trained participants bit.ly/3W3q2CB

Using assessment criteria specific to n-3 studies, the average score out of 5 was 1.48 (n=46). Only 3 studies scored a 4 and no studies score a 5. RAFO the rest!
