Annika is an excellent researcher! Read all about her summer undergrad research experience at UW in the Sam Burden (he/him) lab! ece.uw.edu/spotlight/cnt-β¦
Interested in pursuing a PhD in motor learning starting Fall '23? Please get in touch! See our lab website for details about current projects: sites.google.com/site/motrelab/ The deadline for our doctoral visitation program, which brings prospective students to campus, is Oct 7. Pls RT
Excited to share this emerging work at #cosyne2023. We (Pavithra Rajeswaran, A. Payeur, & Guillaume Lajoie) explore how decoding algorithms in BCI influence neural representations learned by the brain π If you're there in person, be sure to check out poster 3-094 on Saturday.
Good morning to readers. Kyiv remains in Ukrainian hands. Please RT this thread. Itβs an important one. Some news: Iβm leaving NPR as part of the layoffs that dramatically cut the org's workforce. Iβve decided to go back into Ukraine to keep reporting. But this time, alone.
Seeking talented postdocs for our comp neuro lab University of WashingtonCSE. ML and dynamical systems for understanding and manipulating neural populations. BCIs, learning, multi-area communication, dendritic computation, and more. Close collabs with experimentalists across @UW and Allen Institute.
Predictions and models by Linxing Preston Jiang from Rajesh P. N. Rao lab. Interesting that his models also account for postdictions.
Exciting new work from my colleagues Sam Burden (he/him) & L Ratliff arxiv.org/abs/2305.01124 They apply game theory to humans interacting w/ adaptive machines. Turns out machines can steer the game to influence people's behavior. And this doesn't require the machine to model the humanπ€―
New preprint; time for a #tweeprint! When we learn a new skill like riding a bike, we often use training wheels to help us. Does that influence what we learn? Pavithra Rajeswaran, Alex Payeur, Guillaume Lajoie and I used BCIs & RNN models to find out. biorxiv.org/content/10.110β¦ 1/too manyπ
New preprint, so #tweeprint time: Humans and machines dynamically interact in neural interfaces. Can we analyze & predict these interactions? We solve this w/ an interdisciplinary approach led by Maneeshika Madduri as part of a close collab with Sam Burden (he/him) biorxiv.org/content/10.110β¦
So thrilled to watch Maneeshika's PhD defense, today. Congratulations on this amazing achievement, Dr. Madduri! Maneeshika Madduri π
