Excited to be taking a short break from maternity leave to attend #ISTA2023 and deliver two podium presentations about our work at iMBE @ Leeds investigating the biomechanics of dual mobility bearings. Take a look, and join me in sessions Biomechanics 1 & 2 to hear moreππ»

Highlights from #ISTA2023 Day 2! Mackenzie Smeeton Dr Mackenzie Smeeton impressed everyone with her presentation on "Monitoring In Vitro Motion of Unconstrained Dual Mobility Polyethylene Liners for Total Hip Replacement." Well done, Mackenzie! #Orthopedics #medicalresearch

Fabulous talk from my colleague Ollie Vickers at #ISTA2023 discussing smart surgical trial implants to assess implant range of motion and detect impingement and subluxation events intra-operatively iMBE @ Leeds

An exciting PhD opportunity at iMBE @ Leeds with a wonderful supervisory team investigating the biomechanics of dual mobility hip implants!! Take a look here ππ»ππ»ππ»

Enjoying the #BHS24 and looking forward to presenting work from iMBE @ Leeds by Dr Mackenzie Smeeton Prof Tim Board and our colleagues on dual mobility THRs, we are presenting 2 studies 1) looking at in vitro motion and 2) likelihood of impingement compared to conventional THR

Delighted to be the Gold Medal Winner of the 2024 meeting π Thanks to judges Prof Tim Board Josh Lamb and to the organisers for a fantastic meeting as always. Really great to see clinical interest in our research on dual mobility implants at iMBE @ Leeds Professor Sophie Williams

New paper alert βΌοΈπ° Pleased to see our research looking at dual mobility retrievals has now been published! Thanks to Professor Sophie Williams Prof Tim Board co-authors and our international collaborators at Dartmouth College for making this happen. Check it out π doi.org/10.3390/prosthβ¦

The British Orthopaedic Research Society Meeting was held at the University of Sheffield this week. TORC are collaborating with the University of Leeds on a study analysing retrieved ceramic on metal hip replacements Research Fellow Mackenzie presented this work. Dr Mackenzie Smeeton
