I’m so excited that I will be at the #pennbigdata2024 in September and talk about our editorial processes and what it’s like to be an editor Nature Methods. Thank you for the invite and see you there!

Happy Birthday to BMC Global and Public Health 🎂! They have been publishing such amazing and impactful work in this very important field. Gerrit John-Schuster

I’m in CSHL for the Mechanisms and Models for Cancer meeting. It’s always so nice to return to this beautiful place. Looking forward to some great talks. #cshlcancer24 CSHL Meetings Nature Methods

A massive congratulations to past and current editors, authors, reviewers and everyone associated with Nature Methods for a roaring 20 years !! ❤️❤️❤️

I really enjoyed this historical narrative piece in Nature Methods on biotechnology methods over the last 20 years with interviews of some of the key researchers: nature.com/articles/s4159…

Research Highlight by Madhura Mukhopadhyay: Multicompartment assembloids developed by Denis Wirtz and colleagues recapitulates the anatomy and function of human fallopian tubes. Original paper: science.org/doi/10.1126/sc… Highlight: nature.com/articles/s4159…

Happy to share our latest paper, a reference atlas of human development from zygote to gastrulation. Further developed an online reference tool to call cell lineages in an easy and automated manner. Fantastic work by Cheng Zhao and authors nature.com/articles/s4159…

A Resource developed by the teams of Fredrik Lanner and Sophie Petropoulos provides a transcriptional reference map of human embryonic development spanning the zygote to gastrula stages and a webtool (petropoulos-lanner-labs.clintec.ki.se) for comparative studies. nature.com/articles/s4159…

Another Resource developed by Josh Brickman and colleagues presents a reference tool (brickman-preimplantation.streamlit.app) based on deep learning models for unbiased annotation of preimplantation embryo datasets. nature.com/articles/s4159…

A News and Views by Marta Shahbazi and Rina C. Sakata highlights how these resources will fill a much needed gap in the field and will be used to improve the generation of accurate human embryo models. nature.com/articles/s4159…

Spapros developed by Fabian Theis and colleagues is a probe set selection and design pipeline for targeted spatial transcriptomics. nature.com/articles/s4159…

Excited to see our review paper is out in Nature Methods ! We reviewed the tools and model system to study the 4 physical hallmarks of cancer: Elevated solid mechanical stresses, increased fluid pressure, increased stiffness, and altered architecture.

Very cool work on linking the transcriptome to cell mechanical forces by bianca dumitrascu & colleagues.
