Question raised in our office today - is there equipoise regarding initial non-operative mx and WSCS in CT proven SBO in a virgin abdomen vs surgery?

Prof. Conor Magee Gary Alan Bass Definitely have an appetite for a trial of WSCS in aSBO. I think the NHS is ideally placed to deliver a large, high quality trial that addresses the methodological issues of previous studies.

It's #BowelCancerAwarenessMonth. Research shows that over 9 in 10 people survive bowel cancer when it’s diagnosed at the earliest stage. Knowing the symptoms is important to help spot bowel cancer early. The earlier it’s found, the more treatable it’s likely to be. #PassItOn

Obesity is a disease, not a personal failure. Managing it requires time, support, and the right tools. Bariatric surgery can be a powerful step but it’s part of a larger journey that includes nutrition, mental health, physical activity, and long-term follow-up. #obesitysurgery
