Ramsgate harbour, 5 minutes ago, unedited/retouched. The light at this time of year is fabulous - no wonder Tissot & Turner painted here, no wonder I wrote Blood, the Red Children & now My Name is Gus (just finished, 🤞🏼2025) a trilogy shot through with my love of Ramsgate.

To be clear: it’s a good show for a Republic. But it lacks all the things that make a coronation great (most importantly, the non-political nature of it!)

I can’t cook really but I can have fun making a ( healthyish) summer ginger trifle. I got the idea from one my pal Denise brought round. Then I was missing so many ingredients I made an almost-new summer ginger trifle.
