America chose Trump. Fidelity to the Constitution means we must live with that outcome, not plot to overthrow it, violently or otherwise. But that doesn’t mean we should accept the darkest implications of his victory. The choice was binary. The future never was. The work awaits.

I respect those who say otherwise, but it’s just not true that “all the guardrails are gone.” They’re weakened, but many remain — at the state and local levels, and even in key aspects of federal law that remain very much in place. Our Constitution is more than just empty words.

Efforts to ascribe last Tuesday's result to a single variable are likely to offer you an incomplete and probably misleading explanation of what happened. Being quick is not the same as being right. Let's be better. Think and assess.
