Two interesting charts from a report on Women and Work and what the authors call India's Gender Employment Paradox (by VidyaMahambare et al). First, on Indian women and degrees of freedom / mobility. A fourth of Indian women in paid work are not allowed to go to the market

Second, on drop in marriagehood amongst Indian women. The drop is pronounced in the 20-24 age group. The second order effect of this is the impact on fertility rates as we are seeing.
