In June 2019, a Maker Buoy was deployed into the North Pacific by The Ocean Cleanup to study the #GreatPacificGarbagePatch. Three years later, this intrepid buoy was still providing useful science data! Great display how floating debris can remain stuck in this region for years.

Our #Atlantic Maker Buoys routinely travel through #Hurricanes and #TropicalStorms. Now it looks like remnants of #Typhoon #Merbok will impact an #Arctic buoy up in the #BeaufortSea.
