The situation in Gaza is horrific. The suffering of civilians and the death of innocent children is intolerable. I echo the call by Foreign Ministers of 28 countries for all hostages to be released, and for a surge in humanitarian aid. This war must end and it must end now.

Russia, China, the United States…..they should not have a veto over our defence and security policies. As a non-aligned country, Ireland should make our own decisions and the real debate should be about our security, including cybersecurity and protecting territorial waters.

While the Unified Patent Court system is not at the top of most priority lists, it is critical for Irish inventors and creators.

Investment in education is the best long term return. I have long campaigned for a reduction in the pupil teacher ratio in schools and while that has been happening, I am still concerned that we have so many class sizes of 30 or more pupils. Must be a budget priority.
