Our forgingantiquity BPhil interns Brooke Gallucci and Oli Hastings both gave great presentations at the Macquarie University History and Archaeology HDR&ECR conference last week on the work they’ll do with Rachel Y-C 🇵🇸 on Graeco-Egyptian magical papyri in their MRes theses- look out for more of their work next year!

Can confirm: John Rylands Research Institute and Library where John Hodgson works has Coptic wills from c. 14-15 centuries ago in excellent condition, but digital scans I made of hard copy photos 20 years ago are now unreadable. Always consider how future researchers will access your digital archive!

Ok, this is cool: a scanning electron microscope revealed a forgery of a 1933 English penny, of which only 5 examples are known. Someone filed the three off another penny and soldered it on nearly imperceptibly!
