Can confirm: John Rylands Research Institute and Library where John Hodgson works has Coptic wills from c. 14-15 centuries ago in excellent condition, but digital scans I made of hard copy photos 20 years ago are now unreadable. Ok, this is cool: a scanning electron microscope revealed a forgery of a 1933 English penny, of which only 5 examples are known. Someone filed the three off another penny and soldered it on nearly imperceptibly!
