A lot of wisdom here. There's a lot we can't do, but we can build more resiliently. We just don't have incentives to do so. Derek Thompson - for you book.

Our systems remain 100% operational while sustaining over 20,000 requests per second with over 1MM users per hour. Without the support of Fastly, we would not be able to serve our community during this tragic time. Thank you.

We are relieved to report that the flare-up of the Eaton Fire near the Observatory seems to be under control for now. We are grateful to firefighters & mountain staff for their dedication to keeping the mountain safe. We will monitor the situation as things can change quickly.

Our public safety communication systems are highly vulnerable to single point failures. If Mt. Wilson had been destroyed, it would have vitiated the interagency comms that are being stress tested during this firestorm, and responsible for saving many lives and much property.

THIS is the closest aerial view I’ve been able to capture yet of almost the entire town of Altadena, CA. There are no words… #EatonFire
