On day 2 of the National Dialogue, NACAC chair, Prof Firoz Cachalia sets out the original NACAC mandate, which is to "oversee the initial implementation of the NACS and the establishment of an independent statutory anti-corruption body", but without duplicating what exists.

Prof Firoz Cachalia gives some idea of the scope of work accomplished by the NACAC councillors: these include inputs into new whistleblower legislation, the Political Party Funding Act, recommendations for procurement irregularities to be investigated by the OPI, among others.
