Yes, AI is changing the world, and it’s prompting us to ask an age-old question: “What does it mean to be human?” To be human is to be creative, and yet AI too is creative. But can AI create meaningful works of art? My own work resists meaning. AI should resist too.

Is this digital art? Video art? AI art? We call it Posthuman Cinema From the voiceover: "In the house of the machinic unconscious, what we see are more than technical outputs. Instead, these bodies are diffusion models that extend the world from which they originate."

Now my various AI assistants are creating their own soundtracks, inventing totally made-up languages, and syncing them with on-the-fly video creations made out of intuitively triggered text prompts pointing to an extended version of Posthuman Cinema

Posthuman Cinema, my AI art collaboration with Will Luers and @cwmossholder has been selected for the 7th International Digital Art Biennale (BIAN). The exhibition opens today in Montreal at Arsenal Contemporary Art. All ten cinépoèmes in the series will be on exhibit.

My new AI studio models are inventing their own language and it sounds very Dadaesque

For me, the best artists are the ones who creatively reinvent themselves. They operate in perpetual beta. Their artistic risks are calculated risks. It’s something that they train themselves to do so they can maintain an operational edge. It’s what we mean by the term “visionary”
