Well done Celtic- pretty routine to be honest despite the scoreline. Maybe if Hibs had come with any attacking intention it might have been closer - anyhow back to Hampden we go 🍀

This is why you should never look at one single by-election as an explainer of the national mood. Pick the bones out of that 👇

Listening to Mark Diffley present fascinating Scottish polling on the mood of the nation and trust in institutions. Trust is fairly low in Scotland. Trust in the courts and judiciary in Scotland is very low – eye-catchingly low – among Scots aged under 30, especially under 25.

A busy room listening to Mark Diffley presenting exclusive polling for A Scottish Spring on the mood of the nation, levels of trust in politics & whether there's an appetite for a more consensual way of doing things. Full polling will be available after the event.

Hamilton result is classic data vs narrative story. National polling shows SNP support down by 15pts, Labour by 2pts and Con by 10 pts (vs 2021 result) and by election reaffirms this. But many of us (me included) thought the SNP would win. #hamiltonbyelection

Big win for Labour. But not right to say Labour has hugely outperformed what polling is telling us. National polling puts Labour at 20%, down 2 points from 2021 Holyrood election. In this by election Labour’s vote share fell by 2 points from Hamilton result in 2021.
