My staff was honored to attend the 15th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Celebration at MLK Jr. Community Park. This event brings San Diegans together to honor Dr. King’s legacy of fighting to achieve justice and a truly equitable society.

I was honored to be invited to the Equality California Happy Hour this weekend! It was great catching up with them to celebrate the amazing work they do at local, state and national levels.

I joined my San Diego City Council colleagues in presenting a Proclamation recognizing Officer David Surwilo day in the City of San Diego! Officer Surwilo’s 24 years of building trust and fostering relationships with our communities has made a significant impact in this City.

My staff visited the San Pasqual Valley yesterday to meet with Frank Konyn, Matt Witman, and Dr. Craig Kolodge at their respective farms. In addition to some amazing views of the valley, District 5 is home to some of the best citrus and dairy in all of California! 🍊🐄

Over the weekend, I attended the 7th Annual Women of Color Roar Media Black History Month Breakfast. This event is a great way to honor the impact Black women have had throughout history, and continue to make everyday.
