There are 171 billionaires in the UK with a combined wealth of £684 billion. Up over 1000% in the 32 years the list has been compiled. There are 9 million children living in poverty and 6.7m households struggle to heat their homes. Tax the billionaires.

We have a collection of Christmas cards sent by my great grandparents and illustrated by their friend Gertrude Hermes. They’re great little episodes of mid-century design, and feature my great grandmother’s seasonal poems 🎄

2023 was a big year, so I hope ya’ll will excuse a bit of self-indulgence. I started the year by getting my first permanent [ish] job The University of Edinburgh, finished my first trade book for Picador Books, published my second academic book with Manchester University Press, and had the best baby ever.
