A little over 100 days ago, I was elected on a platform of delivering for local people. Today, I am delighted to secure a new agreement with Sizewell C, which guarantees 500 jobs and significant new opportunities and investment for Ipswich. Here's what it means for our town:

Our team were out talking to voters in Duke Street and Coprolite Street in what will be Suffolk County Council's new Gainsborough division at the local elections next May.

After talking to residents in Bridge last weekend, our Ipswich Labour 🇬🇧🌹 team moved 'next door' to Stoke Park today. Thank you to everyone who took the time to speak to us. We had some really important conversations and it is exactly why we are out talking to people all year round.

I'm proud Ipswich flies our town and county flags, alongside flying the Union Jack and St George’s flag, and shows solidarity with Ukraine and others. Reform may not be, but I'm proud of our town, our county, our country, and our allies in their fight for democracy and freedom.

We're facing a summer of traffic and tailbacks. It didn't have to be like this, but the Suffolk Conservatives chose to block the Northern Bypass with no credible alternative, and we're now at breaking point. It's time to Back the Bypass and get Ipswich moving.

In the early hours of 5th July 2024, I became the Member of Parliament for Ipswich. I felt immense pride and gratitude, but I also felt enormous responsibility too. I promised leadership, unity and ambition, and have worked every day in the year since to fulfil that commitment.

We had a lovely lunch at the new Jamaica Blue, which opened yesterday. It was brilliant to see it so busy, with the iconic Grimwades building brought back to life after a decade lying empty. Greenshoots are really coming through in our town centre now - great work IpswichGov!

Our Ipswich Labour 🇬🇧🌹 team beat the showers this morning. We were out talking to residents in Holywells, and we covered a lot of ground and a lot of subjects! Social care, children's services, the town centre, and the need for a Northern Bypass all came up in conversation!
