Today KB had their first experience of 'online story time'. I recorded a video reading the the story Possum Goes School. The students were then asked to draw a picture and write a sentence about what they think might happen if there was a possum at Canley Heights PS

While most of our staff are working at home, a small group of us remain on site completing tasks that can’t be done remotely and supporting students who can’t learn from home. It’s not quite the same here without 98% of our students! 💙💛

The Ss in KB are always asking for the school therapy dogs Aspen and Sedin to visit our classroom. Today they came to visit during the literacy block and became the inspiration for our independent writing. The Ss were so motivated to write about their furry friends! 📖✏️🐶 #CHPS

Highlight of my day today was walking around during literacy activities and seeing the students independently accessing learning tasks appropriate to their point of need! So proud of these little self directed learners! 📖✏️

Data talks have become an embedded part of planning days for the ES1 team at CHPS. Laying out writing samples alongside the literacy progressions to identify what our Ss need and the direction or term 3 programs should take if we are to best support continued writing progress. 📝

KB had lots of fun engaging in Science Day this week! The Ss were learning about how objects move on land, water and in the air. They experimented with toys made paper planes and tested if rocks and ping pong balls would sink or float. Science & Technology Canley Heights PS
