Gearing up for the start of our workshop in just hours, co-hosted with Gordon Clubb, Mary Beth Altier, Katharina Meredith, and Md. Didarul Islam.

🌍 This week, thanks to Gordon Clubb & Md. Didarul Islam, we had the incredible opportunity to host an international workshop NYUGlobalAffairs on the development of standards & guidelines for the inclusion of formers in preventing & countering violent extremism initiatives. NYU School of Professional Studies

Very grateful to have the opportunity to host this important international workshop NYUGlobalAffairs NYU School of Professional Studies. Often difficult, but important & candid, discussion on the complex issue of involving formers in #PCVE work. Hopeful, together as a field, we are able to prevent & mitigate harm.

Excellent writeup by Gordon Clubb of the workshop we co-hosted NYUGlobalAffairs NYU School of Professional Studies w/University of Leeds on developing guidelines for the use of former violent extremists in P/CVE work. Such an important discussion & much needed endeavor. New York University NYU Center on International Cooperation (CIC) medium.com/policy-leeds/s…

📑Excited to see Isabel García in Perspectives on Terrorism. She worked on this & other articles during her 2 years as a visiting fellow NYUGlobalAffairs & @nyuiset. The paper explores why 13 Spanish women disengaged from ISIS or de-radicalized based on personal interviews: bit.ly/3XXrwRE
