Everyone's always so worried that if we don't give trad exams students won't be prepared for college. Why aren't we concerned with preparing them to find intrinsic motivation for the vast amount of ungraded work in a college course that nobody is checking for "points"?

I need at least one day a month in my classroom without students or required meetings. One day to organize, grade, plan, rearrange my classroom, organize my library, update decorations, etc. Teachers should have the option to work from home on these days, too.
