In our first session of the day, Macharia Njoroge,a social transformation advocate and a mental wellness champion, took prison officers through the process of identifying symptoms of the different forms of mental conditions and the terms to avoid.

The workshop was closed by area Prisons county commander and officer in charge Kitui Main Prisons Ibrahim Hassan Sheko who emphasized that the mental health for both prison officers and prisoners should be prioritized.

Mr. Sheko also reiterated the importance of setting up a mental health block to accommodate prisoners with mental disabilities.
