Question for nephrologists that add “avoid unnecessary nephrotoxins” to their AKI notes, do you also tell consultant not to jam that pen in their eye and not to mix bleach and ammonia cleaner?

After taking care of several COVID-19 patients on mechanical ventilation, I would like to say that my personal experience is of little use to others and you all should rely on evidence-based medicine. Thanks.

1/ The conversation between my sons was so mundane. First they talked about Tiktok. Then about our upcoming vacation. It sounded so easy. I was glad. Son 1: “Hey mom? Is it okay if we rent bikes down there?” Me: *typing* “Sure.” Son 2: “Yes sirrrr!” *high fives brother*

I carefully studied this every detail of this image from the most recent cover of The New Yorker this morning. Zoomed in and ran my finger over each face, each loss, each moment in time. Then I cried and cried. Damn. We been through a lot in this country, man. That’s all. #BLM✊🏽

You cannot get educated by this self-propagating system in which people study to pass exams, and teach others to pass exams, but nobody knows anything. You learn something by doing it yourself, by asking questions, by thinking, and by experimenting. 🧠
