New #ENDIAStudy results: in a small sub-study, children who developed #isletautoimmunity demonstrated a surge in mucosa-associated cytokines around seroconversion supporting that mucosal infection (e.g., an enteric virus) is a potential trigger of #T1D doi.org/10.1111/jdi.14…

A great pleasure to be attending the @JDRFaus T1Decade of Research Progress symposium. So much game changing #T1D research coming out of Australia

Interesting discussion point from Colin Dayan: "Some endocrinologists see insulin as a safe drug, and immune modifying therapies as unsafe drugs". Cultural change may be required to bring these emerging therapies to patients. Meetings like these are a great start @JDRFaus #t1dcrn

Exciting new projects as #ENDIAstudy resources go global thanks to @JDRFaus and Helmsley Charitable Trust! The Uni of Adelaide Robinson Research Institute team will be working closely with CU Department of Biomedical Informatics (DBMI) to investigate why #type1diabetes in pregnancy reduces a child's risk of developing #T1D 👩‍🔬🥼💙
