An interesting study in light of the overdiagnosis inquiry. It finds that when everything else is equal, students who have a diagnostic label (including ADHD and autism) are given worse test scores, behavioural assessments and personality evaluations.

"The more we pathologise ordinary distress, the harder it becomes to identify those who are genuinely unwell. A system that labels everyone serves no one." – An important point. One downstream impact of overdiagnosis is resource dilution for those most in need of it.
