Happy #TraineeTuesday! 🎉 Today we’re featuring Sonya Varma , a 4th-year doctoral student in Clinical Psychology at York University. Her research focuses on improving individual and couple-based interventions for people with BPD and/or PTSD by targeting their core emotional

📢New preprint! Depression affects adults of all ages and races. But not everybody seeks care - or receives it - at the same rates. Read our new analysis, in press @ JAD: osf.io/preprints/osf/… Led by Kelly Kwong (applying to grad programs soon!) w/ myself + Jessica Schleider, PhD

.Sonya Mishra: when women’s gains are framed as ⬆️ their power (control of resources), men are ⬇️ likely to support them & ⬆️ likely to worry they’ll be disadvantaged compared to when women’s gains are framed as increasing their status. Women show no differences. 🚻 #APS25DC

The other bright spot of #APS25DC was visiting the mind-blowing & powerful Smithsonian’s NMAAHC. It seemed timely and I hadn’t been! They do an amazing job highlighting how much of the US was built by slaves & how our current ideas of race developed. 💯

Shoutout to ABCT Student Special Interest Group & Chair Grace Hart (she/her) for a rewarding & enriching FREE student research symposium today! Honored ABCT Personality/Personality Disorder SIG could be a part of it.

This week’s #TraineeTuesday features Ally Heiland , a rising fourth-year doctoral student in Clinical Psych at The Ohio State University🥳 Ally’s research focuses on how individuals with personality pathology regulate their emotions, particularly within interpersonal contexts.
