We were CRISPR beginners when @sbabrel joined the lab for her MSc. Meanwhile she achieved any kind of gene edit in RPE1 cells. All her secrets ended up in her detailed protocol. Congrats Sabrina and thanks to real experts Anna Cereseto and Antonio Casini doi.org/10.1016/j.xpro… .

Did you know that mitotic kinetochores control the time-dependent cytosolic availability of 53BP1, activating p53 after long mitosis? If you want to know more about the regulation of this process, check out our latest pre-print! biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Following an abnormally extended mitosis, cells activate p53 via 53BP1. Surprisingly, 53BP1 kinetochore localization is dispensable for this process. PLK1 activity, a negative regulator of 53BP1 localization, appears to be essential instead. embopress.org/doi/full/10.15…

It's official! I am honoured to be awarded an EMBO Postdoctoral Fellowship. Exciting science ahead in Jez Carlton lab at the King's College London looking at late mitotic events. Big thanks to EMBO and everyone who has supported me along the way!
