It’s amazing to see how far we've come. Just 5 years ago, when I was Health Sec, I first saw this tech being developed at the QEH in Birmingham. Fast forward to today, and the first patient has received a personalised vaccine against bowel cancer at that same wonderful hospital.

This is great news. An AI-driven blood test capable of predicting Parkinson's years before symptoms, will make huge improvements to early diagnosis and treatment. This is just the beginning—AI in health tech will continue to revolutionise care.

Following the huge success of this trial, the NHS should adopt self-testing for cervical cancer. Before Covid, the system was reluctant to rely on self-testing, but the pandemic proved we needn't be, and these trial results prove that once again. bbc.com/news/articles/…
