George Balderson proving he’s a gun county cricketer this week. Golden arm with the ball, more than useful with the bat 👏 proper all round talent for Lancashire

The way England have let today meander is so un-Stokes. Bashir bowling 23 overs unchanged defied logic. Carse not seen since shortly after drinks. Done nothing to stem the runs at all #ENGvsIND

Other than maybe Zimbabwe, there’s a question to be asked over whether Bashir gets in any other test playing nation. His line and length is so painfully inconstant, with constant release balls that can be hit square on the off and on side #ENGvsIND

When England played Zimbabwe, their three under pressure players all got runs or wickets, thus locking themselves in for the India series. That trio are now all being found out against a significantly stronger side, and it’s much to England’s detriment #ENGvIND

The way around all this mischief is for the umpires to just insist that cricket gets played. Every team does this and I can fully understand why India feel so aggrieved. But just give more power to the officials #ENGvsIND

Fascinating Test match, this. The best of the series so far. At no point has either side edged more than a fraction ahead of the opposition. If England can squeeze to 260+, that’ll be a tricky chase. But that’s a long way off at the moment #ENGvIND

Brilliant, just brilliant. We are nearing Ashes 2005 level of tension, quality and excitement here. This is a series for the ages #ENGvIND

This is a huge shame for Lancashire. He’s been scoring runs for fun for Eng U19s after injury at the start of the summer and the One Day Cup was his most likely way into the Lancs first team this season. Might not see him wear the Red Rose until next summer

Hats off to Keaton Jennings, who captained superbly there. Used his best bowlers at the key times, even though it meant they had bowled out by the final two overs. By that point, the game was almost in the bag. Fantastic 👏
