Donald M. O'Malley I think there is more and more evidence (particularly from fMRI) that semantics are processed in a more wide-spread network, but I would be careful as describing this as a definite!
2/2: knowledge/SCFE comes from stored experiences, so: Semantics <=> Lang. <=> APCs. so w/ bodies/embods/APCs we are further removed from cognition than language is (ala Ev (like in 'evidence', not Eve) Fedorenko 🇺🇦). Our 1000-Dimensional subconsc./semantic core needs no body. Embod theory makes 0 sense to me
When Abstract Becomes Concrete: Naturalistic Encoding of Concepts in the Brain 🎞️👀💬🧠: Yet more reasons to consider context, dynamics, & the whole brain in our understanding of the neurobiology of language. Amazing & beautiful work Viktor Kewenig. 👏🥂 elifesciences.org/reviewed-prepr…
Happy to have an article out in Biolinguistics today on LLMs and the creative aspect of (human) language use. My thanks to @ElliotMurphy91 for some early encouragement on this! (And Mark Baker and Stephen Pulman who are, fortunately for them, X-less.) doi.org/10.5964/biolin…
