It's a humbling privilege as a doctor to be able to share in the lives of patients who are immigrants, people of color, and economically disadvantaged, and stand against tens of millions of Americans who apparently can't acknowledge their humanity.

It’s clear we have won the generational debate on progressive policies. What isn’t clear is how we close the messaging gap on how to deliver and who the people trust to deliver it. That’s the task. Building trust with the people and a plan for the people.

And now the Dems need to be BOLD. No 'return to normalcy'. No going back to the Obama years. No more neoliberalism. Go Sunrise Movement 🌅 go Justice Democrats go New Consensus etc. - or as Obama said in August: 'To meet the moment, the Democratic Party will have to be bold.'

Beyond condemnation, doctors need to support radical measures to reshape healthcare and government. The old institutions and structures are in a crisis of legitimacy and will not save our patients.
