We’re asking all candidates for mayor to fulfill the city’s promise on McGuinness and were thrilled to be joined by Zohran Kwame Mamdani! Thank you Zohran for your pledge to make our streets safe *proactively* so that no other community has to bear the burden of a neighbor lost.

Last year, our office surveyed the community and identified 107 intersections in need of daylighting to improve pedestrian safety. We shared this with NYC DOT. At this week’s Transportation Cmte hearing, I asked DOT why daylighting has only been implemented at 2 corners.

He is also literally demonstrating one of the points of the redesign, which is to stop these truckers from using streets like Norman as shortcuts instead of sticking to the actual truck route, which is several blocks north of here and where he could have easily made this turn
