Leaders continue to distance themselves from Russia in Bali. Chancellor Olaf Scholz was asked about his brief chat with Russia’s Sergei Lavrov on the margins of the G20. Scholz says, “He stood near me and also said two sentences. That was the conversation,” per Michael Nienaber.

Chancellor Scholz just spoke with Polish President Duda on the phone and expressed his condolences, govt spokesman says. "Poland will closely investigate the circumstances of the incident in which two citizens died last night. Germany stands closely with our NATO partner Poland."
