"Military hardliners are grabbing power from clerics. That could mean they try to extricate themselves from the war now in order to fight another day. But in the medium term it could signal that the regime becomes more extreme, not more pragmatic." economist.com/middle-east-an…

Trump transformed Europe into a bunch of lapdogs, giving him praise, admiration, and confirmation The Iran file showed how meaningless Europe has become globally - not delivering on hard power, they also constantly fail to stand up for the rules-based order

A question for supporters of airstrikes on Iran. If this outcome had resulted from a negotiation, would you support it? This outcome=Fordow, Natanz, Isfahan blown up BUT HEU & centrifuge components survived; no IAEA inspections; no commitment not to rebuild.

Mission accomplished for Bibi wasn't about Iran's nuclear program - it was always about turning the public opinion tide in Israel in his favour timesofisrael.com/netanyahu-said…

The US’s most advanced stealth bombers dropping the US’s biggest, baddest bombs managed to set back Iran’s nuclear program about 3% as much as Obama’s nuclear agreement with Iran did. Once again: great job neocons.

So Trump used about half the entire arsenal of our biggest bunker busters to basically just bury the doors to Iran’s nuclear sites? It’s pretty damning proof that—short of occupying a country nearly four times as big as Iraq—there is no military solution, only a diplomatic one.

Even if the US had destroyed Fordow, Iran retained a number of other underground facilities that were never bombed. I realize that half the people who voted for Trump think they can "manifest abundance", but it doesn't work for disarmament. You actually have to hit the bunker.

We don’t need to wait until the Aukus submarines arrive (not that they’ll ever arrive) to question our sovereignty. It’s already happening thenewdaily.com.au/news/politics/…

One problem with Israel’s plan to “mow the lawn” with Iran is the fact that the U.S. only makes 32 THAAD interceptors *per year* and easily burned through that number in 12 days, according to this analysis:

"The decision was made to appease the pro-Israel lobbyists who would inevitably escalate their complaints about the ABC employing a presenter they perceived to have anti-Semitic and anti-Israel opinions in such a public position." They should be named judgments.fedcourt.gov.au/judgments/Judg…

There can be no security if you sacrifice the economic common good at the unaccountable altar of “national security.” There’s a reason Asia’s leading leaders bailed on the NATO Summit
