From the slave trade to the genocide in palestine... same shit, different day. Colonial forces enact violence, resistance makes it too costly, colonisers are forced to retreat but simultaneously try to take humanitarian credit for ending the violence that THEY started.

Tourism in the Caribbean is a perfect example of what Kapwepwe said happens when we don’t handle our independence well, colonisers come back in the form of investors. Tourism is a multi million dollar industry but such a small % of that profit stays or benefits the region.
