This is the ideal marmot body. You may not like it, but this is what peak performance looks like. Winter is coming! The tundra-dwelling yellow bellied-marmots have been preparing for hibernation for the last couple of months. 📸RockyNPS

How does the Pol II PIC look like on promoters of non-coding genes? It is a core PIC that is positioned by the specific 4-subunit factor SNAPc upstream. DNA opening occurs without TFIIE and TFIIH downstream. VanniniLab_HT Srinivasan Rengachari nature.com/articles/s4159…

It pains me to see eminent colleagues like Neil deGrasse Tyson propagate elementary mistakes. What would really be the implications of taking Santa Claus seriously? I’ll repeat the basics of Santa Mechanics. A theory way more advanced than Neil let’s on here. 🎄🧵 1/13

In 2015, an article in @nature estimated that 800,000,000 USD is wasted annually on nonspecific antibodies. It also suggested standardization, which has not happened. I wonder how much we will spend in 2023 on low specificity antibodies.

Excited to share that our paper cell.com/molecular-cell… got the cover of the new issue of Molecular Cell. Extra cool that this is a photograph taken by the first author Nancy De La Cruz, a super-star research assistant and post-bacc who just started grad school UTSW Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences
