DCist nailed this rule. So many awesome casual places to eat. Melange D.C. Doro Soul Food, Trusty's, CinderBBQdc, Pie Shop DC, HalfSmoke, Lyman's Tavern, Slash Run, Boundary Stone, Swahili Village, are among my favorites. Too many to name.
