KS1 have been set the challenge to go screen-free for a whole week! Between Monday 12th May and Sunday 18th May, we are challenging our pupils to find other activities that don't involve looking at a screen. #screenfreeweek

Menston has been invaded by Romans and Celts! Fear not, it is just Y3 enjoying their Roman and Celt Day at the end of their History unit. We have built aqueducts and created mosaics. Later, we will be making our own shields and then taking part in some Roman solider training!

For Father’s Day, Art club made pictures for their dads. They stamped leaves and flowers in paint and made a meadow. Then they glued sticks to make a frame. They made cards too. We hope the dads liked them!

Y3 have enjoyed their final Wild Passport morning of the year. In the beautiful sunshine we have learnt how to wash and coil ropes to keep them in good condition. We also built some shelters using all the skills we have learnt throughout the year. 🌳

On Monday, Year 1 had a wonderful trip to Lotherton Hall. We learned more about Florence Nightingale from the very woman herself! We also did a fun penguin workshop in the Wildlife World, which linked nicely to our Animals topic in science.

Our Year 5 and 6 Sports Day was a brilliant celebration of energy, effort, and enthusiasm! Despite the soaring temperatures, our pupils showed incredible resilience and determination, staying hydrated, supporting one another, and giving their best in every event.

Year 3 had a wonderful morning playing and singing with the Halle Orchestra at St. George's Hall. The theme was 'One Small Step for Man' and we were so lucky to hear the orchestra play some amazing pieces of music. The highlight was definitely he Doctor Who theme and Star Wars!
