Congratulations to Cai Liu who successfully defended her honors thesis and is graduating with distinction from Duke Psychology & Neuroscience Duke University ! We will miss her next year as she heads to Department of Psychology at UVA to do her PhD in Social Psych with @adriennerwood 🎉🎊


Our lab is the best! We have three of our amazing undergraduates who were selected for the competitive Costazno Teaching Fellowship for Psych 101 Duke Psychology & Neuroscience next year! They will be leading discussion sections and training the next generation! Congrats Ana, Rani, and Serena!

Congrats to Camila, our SURF summer fellow, on a great final poster! Working with Mercedes A. Muñoz she created a new skin color coding system for us to use when seeing how skin color influences identity choices for Latine children via demographic forms! We made it to NLPA! Mercedes A. Muñoz & Natalia Espinosa had a symposium about Latine identity and experiences! The theme for the conference was “Weaving a Community-Engaged Psychological Science" which reflects their commitment to understand & empower diverse communities!


The lab is headed to Society for Research in Child Development Mercedes A. Muñoz had her symposium on Latine identity development accepted! Plus, our Bass Connections at Duke work with @lifeandscience Tamar Kushnir Sydney Revell, M.S. Jessa Stegall @jessastegall.bsky.social was accepted focusing on persistence in museum tasks & STEM identity!


Congrats to our amazing undergrad RA Camila for being accepted to present at the upcoming ACC Meeting of the Minds Conference University of Pittsburgh She will be presenting her work with Mercedes A. Muñoz focusing on Latino identity development and skin tone!
