We're airing all of Supermajority, our very own Meribah Knight's special series with NPR's Embedded, today and tomorrow from 12 to 2 p.m. on 90.3 WPLN News - Nashville Public Radio.

This is wild. So we can’t pass red flag laws. We can’t pass safe storage. We can’t ask adults to do much of anything with their guns because 2A. But we can arrest kids at will, some as young as 7. We can handcuff them. We can take them to jail. All for uttering the word “yes.”

Today journalists will go to work. We will do what we’ve been trained to do, to listen and ask questions. To try and make sense of thy is moment. I wish us safety and peace as we chronicle America’s story.

I just interviewed a 99-year-old WW2 vet who cast his ballot for Trump and his 65-year-old son who came all the way from Italy to vote (his first time ever) for Kamala. Wow!

One woman I spoke with was with her daughter. I asked her what she hoped for and she broke down in tears and said, looking at her daughter, “I hope she can make decisions that I was able to make when I was 18.”

When I was in college, I seriously considered going to work for the Voice of America because I admired its mission to show the world how journalists in a free society were allowed to tell truths that other governments denied. That voice has now been silenced.
