1. Worth revisiting the debate between Ezra Klein and Ta-Nehisi Coates about Israel/Palestine because there's a specific factual point that Klein got very wrong which he should apologize for. Klein insisted that unlike Hamas, Netanyahu was not "specifically targeting killing

the liberal framing of Mamdani and Rama as cool Muslims vs scary Muslims (even if implicit) is really funny when you remember that his father wrote the seminal book and coined the term ā€˜Good Muslim, Bad Muslim’ — about the false & dangerous binary created about Muslims to serve

Israel hawks in the US can win battles - crackdowns on campuses, media taking their side - but are fast losing the war. People under 40 aren't with them. Zohran's election was a true sea change. You can be pro-Palestine and get many, many votes now.

Illegal things landlords have said to me on tours today: 1. "Just you two? Great! I don't want to rent to families with kids." 2. "The sign says Sec. 8 accepted but don't worry we don't really rent to those people."

New Dig: NYC-DSA 🌹 co-chairs Gustavo and Grace Mausser on how DSA and Zohran Kwame Mamdani campaign orchestrated historic victory. A behind scenes look at how DSA built most powerful socialist org in the country—and how we replicate their victory everywhere thedigradio.com/podcast/how-zo…

it could be a one off, but Gillibrand being forced to apologize while the manufactured hysteria over Zohran’s refusal to condemn every word in the Arabic language fades without him giving an inch feels like a watershed moment. I think we’re playing by a different set of rules now

I wrote about the bad faith media and Democratic Party elite pile-on of Zohran Mamdani, the ADL's DO YOU CONDEMN extortion racket, and the broader "antisemitism scandal" script being employed against anyone critical of Israel. inthesetimes.com/article/zohran…

It is very funny that Ezra Klein and Chris Hayes spent 1.5 hrs talking about Zohran Mamdani's command of the "attention economy" and never once mentioned the huge organizing effort that delivered him the primary win. Sorry, it 's only "attentional strategy" if it's social video!

In about 75% of the US, It’s nearly impossible to get on Medicaid outside of some of the worst set of circumstances an American can experience. If a single person in that chamber had to spend a day as someone who actually qualifies in a red state, they would kill themselves

Kentucky saw the third largest increase in multifamily housing construction in 2022 - a 97.7% increase in approvals. Still, the percentage of rent-burdened residents increased to 47%. Building into a rigged market will not deliver lower rents. This week, Kentucky sued RealPage.

Takes like this one assume the United States is a poor nation rather than a very wealthy one. But implicitly treating private housing development as the only option (and real estate profits as sacrosanct) means ruling out possibility of a much higher standard of living for all.
