A new report in #OL from Alex Gabbey, Nick Michel, and @RousseauxGroup from Chemistry at UofT with Jon Hughes and L.-C. Campeau Ph.D. from Merck, a mild nickel-catalyzed reductive coupling strategy to synthesize alpha-aryl secondary amides from NHP esters. Check it out pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac…

*only if you're in a monogamous committed relationship or abstinent then you're eligible to donate. People in non-monogamous relationships or even just DATING are still ineligible for 3 months. Anyone else still feeling the discrimination or is it just me??

Are you interested in cyclopropylamines? Are you interested in Ni catalysis? Are you interested in collaboration? Well then, I have the perfect #CCCE2022 talk for you tomorrow! Stop by Glen 203 at 2pm to hear the story of my last PhD project in collaboration with Genentech! 😁

Happy to see that a part of my PhD research on cyclopropanol chemistry (and in fact, this was started as my very first undergraduate project) has found such a beautiful extension in the hands of @RousseauxGroup! This team never stop to amaze! pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac…

A simpler & safer way to access carbene intermediates for a variety of synthetic transformations – congrats to the authors! It was a lot of fun getting the opportunity to write a Science Magazine Perspective on this work @RousseauxGroup. Check it out here: science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…

First week at Merck done! So excited to start my postdoc position in the HTE group and learn some new chemistry skills 😁. Do I have any twitter friends in NJ? Looking for recommendations on places to go and things to see!

So cool to see my work on the cover of Org Lett! We report the synthesis of cyclopropylamines from cyclopropanols or enones via metal homoenolates. If you want to learn more about the underexplored electrophilicity of these intermediates, check out the link below! ACS for Authors

My final PhD project is finally out! I had so much fun on this project working alongside the incomparable Alex Gabbey and in collab with Genentech. 1-Arylcyclopropylamines are an important motif and we're so excited to now be able to access them through a mild Ni-catalyzed rxn!

Super excited to share our work on the photocatalytic O- to S-rearrangement of tertiary cyclopropanols to access cyclopropanethiol products! Huge amount of work went into this one from all involved and I am really happy with how it all turned out. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/epdf/10.10…
