My FYP started as a biological project, rapidly changed to building an optical device, turned again into a design engineering challenge and now it’s simply designing a data processing algorithm. At this rate on submission data I’m doing something in the field of economics 🤷🏻‍♂️

Me trying to download my 16384 files to analyse. My computer deciding to open all the unnecessary apps and stop download midway 50 times

More on the Saga Final Year Project. Computer has been running code officially for 20 hours. Absolutely scared if I’m getting any output or even the one I expect.

Next time someone proposes a mindfulness session, can we just set up Just Dance on a Switch in a lecture theatre? The science says it will be a lot more effective.

We (Andrew York, Jan Becker, Craig Russell and I) are still working on the manuscript describing our automatic parameter-free deconvolution approach, but we've made a Google Colab notebook where you can try it out without needing to install anything: beryl.mrc-lmb.cam.ac.uk/rlgc_notebook/

There's just under a week left to apply for this instrument development project at the LMB, in sunny Cambridge, aiming to develop a multispectral light-sheet imaging flow cytometer. x.com/JamesDManton/s…

Thanks to The Royal Society and @MRC_LMB, Buzz Baum's Lab and I are looking for a student to develop the next generation of fluorescent proteins for live and super-resolution imaging, as part of the LMB's four-year PhD programme. www2.mrc-lmb.cam.ac.uk/students/inter…
