Cephalopods are an incredible clade of animals and much of their biology is a mystery. I'm thrilled to share our new preprint, led by Gabrielle Coffing, describing an amazing discovery--ZZ/ZO karyotypes in cephs and the oldest sex chromsome found to date biorxiv.org/content/10.110โฆ

Reminds me of Yun S. Song's informal talk at UO where he told us that application to non-model systems will be where language model + genomics will really shine, even though most ppl just think about humans. Congrats Yunha Hwang!! She's so brilliant, go work with her

thrilled to share Rachel Ungar's and my paper on our genetics + ethics course! still shocked, awed, and incredibly grateful that our little idea grew into a full-fledged course and accompanying paper cell.com/cell-genomics/โฆ

Congrats to the whole team, especially our fearless leaders Peter Ralph, Jiseon Min and my student Elsie Chevy, on this paper about pop gen in space: biorxiv.org/content/10.110โฆ. The paper is a "guide" as the title says, AND 1/4
