Thank you so much to all our participants, we really couldn't do it without you! 🥳☺️🤗 Still recruiting adults with #IBD for the last 10% 🥼💩❤️‍🩹 Particularly if you are from an Arab, African, Caribbean, Asian or mixed ethnicity background, we want to hear from you!

Historically, research has not always prioritised #representation and #diversity. The mindbodyibdstudy is committed to doing things differently. We want our research to represent the experiences of everyone with #IBD, working towards a more inclusive healthcare future 🌍💙

Great things happening with this mindbodyibdstudy study. But they are keen to hear from more men and diverse populations in their #IBD patient recruitment. Can you help spread the word? Thanks! 🥂

🧵Do interventions for mood improve inflammatory biomarkers in #IBD? Our meta-analysis of 28 RCTs 📋showed reductions in generic inflammation 🔥, CRP 🩸& faecal calprotectin💩 Paper published today in eBioMedicine – The Lancet Discovery Science thelancet.com/journals/ebiom…

The new study suggests that mood interventions could support the management of #IBD, improving both mental health and #inflammation. Integrated mental health support alongside anti-inflammatory medications may offer a more holistic approach to IBD care. kcl.ac.uk/news/mood-inte…

What drives self-reported disease activity and healthcare usage in IBD? 💩🔥 ❗️Spoiler alert❗️It's a more complicated picture than gut inflammation alone. Depression predicted: 🏥self-reported symptoms, primary & secondary care, A&E and productivity 🔥but not inflammation

1️⃣ NEW *open access* measure🧵 just published the Illness-Related Distress (IRD) Scale in Psychological Medicine doi.org/10.1017/S00332… It's a 14-item, trans-diagnostic PRO for distress related to living with any long-term physical condition (LTC). But WHY does this matter 🤔 ⬇️

Natasha Seaton (@natashaseaton2) 's Twitter Profile Photo

3️⃣ How can the IRD scale be used clinically? By assessing if distress is LTC-related: 🔸Screen in primary care/non-specialist service to decide between depression/anxiety pathway vs LTC-adjustment modules 🔸Track outcomes📈 🔸Assessment of multimorbidity/rare condition cohorts⚖️
