Last week, Gina Lamka and Andrea Miranda presented their research at the The Wildlife Society annual conference in Louisville, Kentucky. They did an amazing job presenting their work on diverse subjects such as eco-evolutionary dynamics and caribou population genetics! 🧬🙌🏽

Today, Damseltemitee presented her research on fungi pathogens at the University of St. Andrew, Scotland! Great Job Temi!!👏🏽🥳 Population Genetics Group The Genetics Society #PopGroup57

This MLK weekend, our lab participated in the Jr. MANRRS Leadership Institute Auburn University AU College of Forestry, Wildlife and Environment. Our activity focused on predator-prey dynamics to understand the development of rules that govern animal behavior, and connecting the concept to elements of coding!👩🏽💻🧬

A few members of the Willoughby Lab had the opportunity to represent the AU College of Forestry, Wildlife and Environment during the MLK Scholarship Breakfast! Way to represent the college and the lab! 👏🏽✨

As part of the Farm Bureau fellowship program, Damseltemitee attended the American Farm Bureau youth and rancher leadership conference in Omaha, Nebraska where she had the opportunity to learn about leadership, agriculture, personal/professional growth and networking! 🙌🏽🥳

Yesterday Damseltemitee presented her research at Auburn University’s Annual Student Research Symposium. She did an amazing job presenting her work on fungi pathogens! 🦠👩🏽🔬🧬

Last week Damseltemitee and Tabeth Mwema attended the 38th Annual MANRRS Conference and Career Expo where they had the opportunity to present their research, attend workshops, and network with leaders, universities, and federal and state agencies 🤝🏽🧬 #MANRRS #MANRRS38

On this National Pet Day, we celebrate the unconditional love, joy, and companionship our furry friends bring into our lives. Let's take a moment to appreciate this photo of Gina Lamka with Charlie and Euchre! #NationalPetDay 🐶🐱

Check out how our lab is integrating genetics with disease dynamics to research a fungal pathogen! Featuring Gabriel Amorim Silva , Damseltemitee , and Janna Willoughby !🧬 🍿: youtube.com/watch?v=u8VyBp…

Gina Lamka, Andrea Miranda , and Tabeth Mwema presented their research at the Alabama Chapter of The Wildlife Society Annual Conference in Millbrook, AL. They did an amazing job presenting their research on topics such as epigenomics, vector bionomics and control, and disease spread.

Earlier this month, Damseltemitee attended the 2024 Southern Forest Health Work Conference (SFHWC) conference in Greenville, South Carolina! She presented her research on fungal pathogens. Great job Temi! 🦠🧬 #sfiwc24 AU College of Forestry, Wildlife and Environment

Congratulations to Tabeth Mwema and Andrea Miranda for representing the lab as the 2024 College of Forestry, Wildlife and Environment’s Graduate Student Association Officers (GSA)! We are excited to see what this team will accomplish this year!🥳 #CFWE #GSA #WarEagle

🚨 PhD Opportunity Alert! 🚨 Student will work on a cutting-edge NSF-funded project exploring the evolutionary dynamics of trout and collaborating with experts from NSF National Center for Atmospheric Research & University of Wyoming (Kelly Heber Dunning)! 🔗 Learn more at: willoughbylab.auburn.edu/join-the-lab/

For #HispanicHeritageMonth we are highlighting Marilis Girón ! “As a visiting scholar from @EAPZamorano and a senior future engineer in Environment and Development, my passion for preserving biodiversity with sustainable food production has brought me to the Willoughby Lab.”

Glad to have been part of this work and to see it out! Conservation Genomics Lab Using simulated and empirical data, we investigated how factors like tools, sequencing depth and demographic history can influence ROH detection. 🧬 doi.org/10.1371/journa…
