Amazing work by students in UCSC's game design capstone! Several of my former students were on this team and I'm so proud of them.

I wish more Escape Rooms would have credits for the artists, writers and designers that brought the game to life, just like movies, theater, and games. This could be part of a end-game experience, a poster in the lobby, or recognition on the web site. Recognize creative work!

I'm studying how game genres have been adapted across media (e.g. board game Cantaloop is advertised as a paper point-and-click game). Can anyone recommend work about how genres are adapted between media? Like if genre tropes of Western novels carried over into Western films.

I don't think I got enough credit when I arranged a medley of songs from Battlestar Galactica (composed by Bear McCreary) and called it "Bear's Beats: Battlestar Galactica"

Congrats to everyone at NFSA National Film and Sound Archive of Australia who worked on this study of the state of game preservation efforts around the world. It was good to collaborate with them and have chris arneil present the results at the Save the Games conference at The Strong Museum abc.net.au/news/2024-08-2…
