Nick, 30. He’s overtaxed and paying for everyone else. He can’t afford a home, and definitely not a family. Historically, Nick would vote Conservative. Freer market, pro-homes, higher growth, lower tax. We must return to being Nick’s party. buff.ly/ehg90qg

This brilliantly illustrates why, in a free democracy, basic civic order is maintained not only by a visible and effective police force, but also by the knowledge that anti-social behaviour will be met with instant rebuke from members of the public. Collective action is required!

“Hungary is being fined €1 million a day for defending Europe’s borders.” We’re doing Brussels’ job to defend the borders of Europe, and getting punished for it. This is what standing for sovereignty looks like in today’s liberal order. But the tide is turning!

🚨The most important graph in British politics👇 Why are average wages no higher than in 2008? The argument for capitalism is that gradually everyone becomes better off. But for 17 years that hasn't been happening. Why is Britain's economy stuck?🧵

V pleased to appear on GB News this morning with Miriam Cates & Charlie Peters to discuss my Policy Exchange report with Yuan Yi Zhu rejecting the idea the current ECHR system can be seen as a genuine part of the legacy of Churchill, Maxwell-Ffye, Clement Attlee etc ⬇️

Miriam Cates (@miriam_cates) 's Twitter Profile Photo

We are often told that leaving the ECHR would be a betrayal of Churchill’s legacy. But fascinating research by Conor Casey (Conor Casey) at Policy Exchange reveals that Churchill had serious misgivings about the Convention and did not accept ECtHR jurisdiction over the UK.

My latest for The Spectator 👇 Britain's economy has stagnated for more than a decade. We need radical liberalisation of the supply side at home. But we must also reindustrialise to on-shore value, boost productivity & rebalance trade.
