Thanks Frances Nicolaides and the Hwdsb Summer Camps instructors for leading this fun song to start off camp today! Almost every single camper attending at this site was there at 8:30 this morning to partake in this community building. ❤️ the positive energy & happy staff and kids! 💕

.Frances Nicolaides took a small group of parents through this storyboard activity today at camp. It was great to see another family reading the story together when they left. They are also going to have these boards out tomorrow morning to encourage some storytelling as kids come.

This was so fun - I hope many families enjoy this read aloud!

Had a blast this morning with this group Hwdsb Summer Camps - used a lesson from Youcubed to explore mathematical art! Students then used various materials to create their own. We discussed shapes, symmetry and congruent/similar shapes.

We had so much fun playing some of the math games Kelly McCrory had put together from her “Games with a Purpose” session! Students definitely grew in confidence after a few rounds. Love engaging with kids this way!

Building community is a big part of what we do at Hwdsb Summer Camps. Thanks to the site leads and principals for creating these kind of community experiences for staff too. Just one “thank you” from today. Thanks Maria Marino (she/her/elle) and Frances Nicolaides!
