We reach a point every school year where I spend less time thinking about the present and more times making plans/setting intentions for next school year. It is nice to be excited about the future and feel fond enough about my students to embrace the present, too.

I love teaching 8th grade because I don't get the end-of-year doldrums. June is when the energy and urgency ramp up for me. There's a bit of healthy pressure to enjoy every moment.

As always, I had a really special time with Plaza Middle students at Relay for Life on Saturday. 8th graders have a way of rising to the occasion.

We've been working behind-the-scenes on our IB Learner Profile first week lessons and Service as Action Advisory lessons for next school year Plaza Middle. There are good things in store for our students.

A2: The disposition where schools probably struggle the most is listening. It's easy to dismiss kids as disruptive, short-sighted, immature, and off-task. Sometimes we don't realize what's important to kids, even if they're trying to tell us. #BelongingVB #LeadVB
